3 People Injured In 79 South Crash Near Temecula
The three-vehicle crash was reported Monday night.
TEMECULA, CA — Three people were injured Monday night in a state Route 79 South crash, just east of Temecula city limits.
The three-vehicle crash was reported at 7:47 p.m. on the highway near call box 96, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. A map shared by the agency shows the crash site was near the Dripping Springs Campground, southwest of Butterfield Lake Estates.

One person who was trapped in the wreckage had to be extricated by fire personnel.

Cal Fire reported that two people involved in the wreck suffered moderate injuries, while the third suffered minor injuries. All were sent to a local hospital for treatment.
The crash cause remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
