Archive Quietly Replaces Espadin Restaurant In Old Town Temecula: What To Know

Same owners, new direction. The restaurant Espadin closed in early December for a rebranding with a dark academia vibe.

TEMECULA, CA — The Archive restaurant has opened in Old Town Temecula, replacing the former Espadin with a new menu and decor, as the owners updated the space with a fresh, bookish vibe.

Meet Archive. Located at 28544 Old Town Front Street, it reopened this week under a new name and featuring a new menu of steak, seafood and spirits.

The restaurant quietly debuted during the Holiday Taste of Old Town, when it served samples of braised short rib and showcased in-process decor, due to a special event next door at Crush & Brew. Archive is among the restaurants and bars that include Crush & Brew and the speakeasy Thompson and Twain

"Old Town Temecula’s newest and hottest spot is here — Archive. Steak, seafood, and spirits crafted to satisfy and keep you coming back. Don’t just hear about it, come taste what everyone’s talking about." They shared in a recent social media post, and we can't wait to try it.

The restaurant soft opened on Dec. 12, and has been drawing Yelp reviews.

The menu is broken up like the index of a favorite book, from cocktails to Prologue: featuring appetizers like oysters on the half shell, Hamachi Crudo, and a wedge salad; to Narrative: featuring main course items like the Archive Burger, Short Rib with Gnocchi, Filet of Beef, and more; Footnotes: Steak accompaniments, including broccolini, sauce a poive, creamed spinache and others; Early Readers: A kids menu, with petite sirloin steak and fries, chicken breast; as well as the Epilogue: desserts like Panna Cotta, and an Archive Zookie - a chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and chocolate syrup.
