Brush Fire Erupts Near Temecula

The Grande Fire was reported at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

TEMECULA, CA -- A brush fire erupted Sunday afternoon near Temecula. The blaze was reported at 1:30 p.m. in the 44000 block of Vuelta Grande Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Fire officials said the blaze, dubbed the Grande Fire, was in heavy brush and about 10 to 11 acres.

More than 100 firefighters were called to battle the fire.

Elsewhere in the region, firefighters were battling a wildland fire near Lake Elsinore. A blaze also erupted Saturday afternoon in De Luz.
