TEMECULA, CA -- A wildland fire erupted Sunday in Temecula, temporarily threatening several homes and prompting area evacuations. The fire was reported at 4:52 p.m. in the 41000 block of Margarita Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
As of Sunday evening, the fire was between one to 1.5 acres, prompting the temporary evacuation of about 20 homes, fire officials said.
As of 7:20 p.m., the fire was 50 percent contained, officials said.
