How do you know your graduating student nominee?
My daughter
Tell us why they deserve to be nominated!
My daughter Skye has shown so much strength throughout her college years. Our family has endured one tragedy after another, and Skye still pushed through and continued her college from Bachelors to Masters graduating with honors. In Nov 2019 when Skye was a freshman in college, she lost her Grandma who lived with her to a sudden and unexpected death in our home. Four weeks later, Skye lost her sister who was 2 years older and in college at ASU to a tragic death. Nine months later Skye lost her Grandpa, who also died an unexpected death. Skye continued to push through with the 3 deaths of her close family and especially losing her sister.
It was so difficult for Skye, but we told her to keep moving forward for her future. Skye also worked weekends while in school. Two years later our employee embezzled money from our company we built in the last 20 years and took all our money from us that we have never been able to recover.

Again, Skye pushed through another family heartache. Skye never waivered and continued on and worked hard enough that in her Senior year in college, Skye qualified for the Master's Accelerated Program where she finished her Masters in 1 year instead of 2 years, and she completed it while maintaining an internship in her field 2 days a week and still working weekends, and she earned her spot in the Honor Society. I feel Skye should be recognized for all the hard work while she is out now looking for a job in her field of Social Work.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about your graduating student nominee?
Skye's strength and resilience
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Skye!
