Dog Dies In Anza House Fire, Residents Forced To Flee: Cal Fire

ANZA, CA —A dog died Wednesday in an Anza house fire that damaged the structure and displaced the residents.

Shortly before 1:15 p.m., firefighters arrived at the 59000 block of Gillman Road to find light smoke emitting from the structure, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

It took about two hours later to contain the blaze fully. Crews also extinguished flames in a roughly 100-square-foot patch of vegetation at the scene.

Animal control was called in to assist with the deceased dog, and two adult residents were displaced. Red Cross assistance was not required, and no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
