Hindu Sangathan Divas (Unity Day) in Temecula brings together Linguistic and religious organizations

The Temecula chapter of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA held its annual Hindu Sangathan Divas (Unity Day) congregation on Jun 13, at the Morgan Hill Park. This year’s event marked the 3rd anniversary of Hindu Sangathan Divas (Unity Day) in Temecula and was attended by over 45 participants from Linguistic and Religious organizations of the surrounding area. Hindu Sangathan Divas (Unity Day) as the name suggests, is a platform that provides an opportunity to local Hindu organizations to come together, exchange ideas with the goal of synergizing the work for the larger community.

This function is to commemorate the Coronation of Chhatrapati Sri Shivaji Maharaj in 1674 A.D., at Raigadh in Maharashtra, Bharat. According to Hindu calendar, the day was Jyeshtha Shuddha Trayodashi of Aananda Samvatsara of the Shalivahana Era 1596 (or Vikrama Era 1731).

The choice of this occasion for celebration lies in its inspiring historical significance. The occasion holds up for the Hindu people inspiring lessons for their future march – perhaps unequalled by any other single event during the past 3-4 centuries of their history.

This year’s event was celebrated as Sport Day for bringing all the fun, togetherness and health awareness in Hindu-American society including outreach programs with other Hindu organizations along with leveraging each other’s strength. Youths demonstrated the marching band which they learn during weekly meetings.

After welcome of the President of TASC as chief guest by director of HSS San Diego (looks after Temecula chapter), the President of TASC acknowledged the achievement of Temecula’s vibrant Hindu community during past years which made a positive impact on the community. He also emphasized on the continuous efforts required by all organizations to raise Hindu dharma awareness.

The director of HSS San Diego (looks after Temecula chapter) concluded the event by emphasizing “why Hindu Sangathan Divas?” He mentioned few inspirational stories of Shiva Ji Maharaj to highlight the importance of Hindu Unity as well as by his war tactics to establish the Hindu empire. He also elaborated on why to have coordinated activities to achieve the goals without disrupting autonomy of the organizations.
