Hot Air Balloon Touches Down At Temecula's Brixton Cove

TEMECULA, CA — Despite the hundreds of hot air balloon flights above Temecula Valley each year, it's always a sight when one touches down in a residential community.

That was the case Wednesday morning in Temecula.

Around 8 a.m., a hot air balloon with a Vindemia Vineyard & Winery logo touched down on Brixton Cove, a neighborhood cul-de-sac just west of Butterfield Stage Road.

Five onboard the craft were safe as two crew members maneuvered the balloon from the ground, according to photos and a local resident.

"They had been up a couple of hours and everyone was in good spirits," said Larry Manley, who witnessed the morning event. "The wind apparently stopped, so they just landed in the closest large area (cul-de-sac). The crew did an excellent job and no one seemed concerned at all."
