Illegal Marijuana Grow Found Near Lake Elsinore: Police
Concerned residents alerted authorities to the location of a suspected marijuana cultivation site.
LAKE ELSINORE, CA — This week, Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station Special Enforcement Team deputies acted on a series of complaints regarding a suspected illegal marijuana grow in unincorporated Lake Elsinore's Lakeland Village.
Thursday, deputies served a search warrant in the 33000 block of Westlong Street to find that the residence and additional building on the property had been transformed into a marijuana cultivation site, where illegal electricity was running to the grow site, according to a report from Sgt. Jarrod Meissen.
"Approximately 815 marijuana plants in various stages of growth were located and eradicated. Southern California Edison responded to the residence and disconnected power to the electrical system within the residence that had been illegally altered," Meissen said.
