Local Temecula Author’s Thrilling Bestseller Hits the Big Screen
Filming Set to Bring Excitement and Great Opportunities to Temecula.
Temecula’s own A.B. Whelan is taking her psychological thriller, "As Sick as Our Secrets," from the pages of her bestselling novel to the silver screen, with several key scenes set to be filmed right here in Temecula and the surrounding areas. This exciting development promises to showcase the charm and talent of our local community while bringing a gripping story to life.
The novel, which soared to the top 100 on Amazon’s bestselling psychological thrillers list in 2018, tells a harrowing tale of an abused wife, a struggling therapist, and an overworked soccer mom navigating the treacherous underbelly of Los Angeles to uncover the truth behind a forgotten missing young woman. With echoes of "PRISONERS" and "MYSTIC RIVER," the film features a compelling female-led cast that delves into the moral complexities of justice.
Backing this thrilling adaptation is Sir Marco Robinson, the multifaceted British producer behind the hit movie "LEGACY OF LIES," which debuted at #2 on the US Netflix charts. Robinson is known for his dynamic creative vision and has earned accolades from prestigious film festivals worldwide. Joining him is director Scott Vickers, whose directorial debut, "THE MATRIARCH," secured distribution deals with industry giants like Lionsgate and Sky UK. Vickers’ extensive background in TV, film, and theatre ensures a masterful translation of Whelan’s intense narrative to the screen.
