Low-Income Housing Coming To Old Town Temecula
An application to build the homes is on behalf of Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley.
TEMECULA, CA — Plans to build new homes near Old Town Temecula for low- to very-low-income residents will get reviewed this week by the city's Planning Commission.
The proposal on behalf of Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley calls for the construction of six affordable, for-sale housing units and two buildings located approximately 200 feet north of the intersection of First and Pujol streets.
The homes will range in size from 1,706 to 1,800 square feet, and all will be situated on two parcels that, combined, total .46 acres, according to city documents. Included in the plan are two, two-story triplexes.

The Habitat for Humanity homeownership program is designed to assist low-income, first-time homebuyers. Habitat homes are sold at no profit and financed with affordable loans.
In addition to a down payment and monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest "Sweat Equity Hours" building their future Habitat home and the homes of other Habitat homebuyers.
Interested applicants must apply and meet Habitat for Humanity's eligibility requirements.
The proposed project will be reviewed on Tuesday by the Temecula Planning Commission. The 6 p.m. Temecula Planning Commission meeting takes place at City Hall, 41000 Main Street. See the full meeting agenda here.
