Man, 23, Arrested After Crash Leaves Two Dead In Jurupa Valley
A 23-year-old motorist was arrested after two people were killed in a crash.
JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A 23-year-old motorist was arrested after two people were killed in a crash Saturday in Jurupa Valley, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced.
Deputies responded to the area of Limonite Avenue and Beach Street around 2:50 a.m. Saturday to a report of a crash. They found two vehicles blocking the eastbound lanes of Limonite, west of Beach. One of the involved vehicles was a van that allegedly had several unrestrained passengers at the time of the crash. Two passengers from the van had obvious signs of trauma and were pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The drivers of both vehicles, along with all other passengers from the van, were rushed to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

The department's Jurupa Valley station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team assumed the investigation and found that the driver of the van, identified as Bryan Cruz-Arenas from Jurupa Valley, was driving under the influence, authorities said.
Cruz-Arenas was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and one count of driving under the influence causing death or injury.

The identities of the two people killed were not available, pending notification to next of kin.
Limonite Avenue between Bain Street and Beach Street was temporarily closed for the investigation, but was reopened as of 11:55 a.m.
