Man Dies After Found Stabbed In Old Town Temecula

A woman was questioned about the stabbing but she was later released.

TEMECULA, CA — A man has died after he was found stabbed Sunday night near Old Town Temecula. Despite no arrests in the case, no suspects are currently being sought, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced Monday morning.

The wounded 63-year-old man, whose identity was not released pending notification of next of kin, was discovered around 9:18 p.m. Sunday in the 41000 block of Moreno Road after deputies received a call about an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the sheriff's department.

The man was found lying on the ground and first aid was administered until an ambulance arrived. He was transported to a local hospital, but he died from the injury, the sheriff's department reported.

A 53-year-old Temecula woman was questioned about the incident but she wasn't arrested. The woman's identity was not released, and the sheriff's department did not disclose her relationship, if any, to the man.

Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez said no further details were available about the case, though the sheriff's department reported, "No outstanding suspects are sought in this investigation."
