Man Struck, Killed Near Temecula Mall Was Local Resident
The Temecula man was hit on Winchester Road, near Promenade Mall East.

TEMECULA, CA — Details were being released Monday about a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle near the Promenade Temecula mall.
Leland Franklin, 39, of Temecula was hit on Winchester Road at 9:55 p.m. Friday, about 200 feet south of Promenade Mall East. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the county coroner's office.
Sergeant Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said the vehicle's driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

Drugs/alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision, according to the sergeant.
