BEAUMONT, CA — Christopher Ramos has accepted his role as the city of Beaumont's new chief of police after the departure of Chief Sean Thuilliez. Thursday was Ramos's second day in the position.

Ramos' 24-year experience in law enforcement, including his previous roles as Captain, the city's first Community Policing Officer, the department's first Administrative Sgt., and as an Emergency Services Coordinator, helped him land the position after a lengthy selection process.

He is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute and is enrolled in POST Command College. He also serves as an associate director on the California Police Chiefs Association Board of Directors.
