Wounded military veterans, active-duty service members and their families were treated to a Christmas party Saturday by a local nonprofit.
Similar to years past, Western Eagle Foundation provided families in need with toys for Christmas, with this year’s party honoring 300 people combined from the Wounded Warrior Project and local, active military families, according to a news release.
Held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the organization’s Temecula facility, the party was fun-filled event that featured a live DJ, raffle and prizes, a petting zoo and pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. Lunch and snacks were provided by the nonprofit.

Through a donation of toys from Toys for Tots, every family left with presents. With an event even bigger than last year’s, the holiday party was billed a success.
“We had a great party and helped 120 families in need this year,” stated Joni Beckman, donation coordinator for Western Eagle Foundation. “Doing so makes us proud to support the community and our veterans who have risked their lives for our freedom.”
