Nearly 500 Temecula Homes, Schools Without Power: 'Repairs In Progress'

Southern California Edison reported hundreds of Temecula homes and one school were without power Thursday morning.

TEMECULA, CA — A power outage in South Temecula that affected nearly 450 homes and one school was expected to be repaired by 10 p.m., according to Southern California Edison.

Equipment problems were reported as the cause for the outage, and crews were en route to begin repair work for the 250 homes that were still without power as of 3:30 p.m.

The outage was initially reported at 9:45 a.m. in the Crowne Hill neighborhood of Temecula, and centered near Corte Figueroa and Via Angeles, near De Portola Road. The blackout affected nearby homes located east of Butterfield Stage Road and north of Temecula Parkway.

Crowne Hill Elementary School was also temporarily without power during the outage, according to the Temecula Valley School District. Calls to the school could not be completed as of noon.

Repair crews had arrived to begin repairs, according to the Edison Outage website. There was no immediate estimate of when power would be restored to the area.
