NFL Player Saves Victim Of I-15 Quadruple Fatal Crash In Temeclua

Glenn Cadrez, a former NFL linebacker on his way home from his son's Pop Warner game, helped pull a driver from the fiery wreckage.

TEMECULA, CA — A Southwest Riverside County father and former NFL player helped save a man's life this week after a quadruple fatal crash on I-15,.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. Saturday, a BMW M4, reportedly driving recklessly, collided with another vehicle, according to California Highway Patrol reports. Four people were killed, and likely one was saved due to the assistance of Glenn Cadrez, a two-time Super Bowl Champ and linebacker with the Denver Broncos, according to a report on Fox5 San diego news.

Cadrez was on his way home from a Pop Warner football game, driving on I-15 and saw the "a big cloud of dust in the median," he said. "Maybe two seconds ahead of me... just boom! The car in front of me, I just saw a bam!"

Cadrez pulled over to dodge the collision and get off the freeway, according to the report. Then he noticed both cars were on fire. He told media outlets that he rushed to assist and, with the help of another witness, pulled the 25-year-old BMW driver from the wreckage. The car was fully engulfed in flames, according to reports, when he and other witnesses stopped to assist.

The BMW was being driven by a 25-year-old man from Moreno Valley at the time of the fiery crash. Cadrez and other good Samaritans pulled the unidentified driver from the vehicle, but he suffered major injuries and was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center, according to CHP. The passengers, a 23-year-old woman and a boy and girl, ages 14 and 15, all from Moreno Valley, died at the scene, CHP said. A victim in the other car also perished during the collision.

"I don't look at it like this heroic thing I did. It was just, it happened. It happened quick, and I had to open (the BMW) and get someone out, you know. It was someone's kid."
