Possible Vehicle Malfunction Cited In Temecula Crash

TEMECULA, CA — A solo-vehicle crash in the area of Winchester and Nicolas roads Wednesday morning was possibly due to a mechanical malfunction, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The non-injury wreck was reported at 9:38 a.m. When deputies arrived, they found a dark Audi sedan crashed into a tree.

"The preliminary investigation determined the vehicle possibly had a mechanical malfunction," though the final crash cause has not been determined, according to Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez.
