TEMECULA, CA — A Southern California Edison power outage "locked out" 2,800 Temecula residents Tuesday afternoon, and SCE workers were determining the root of the problem, Patch was told.

At 3:15 p.m., SoCal Edison was "locked out" of two lines from the Pechanga substation, according to a spokesperson.

The power utility had returned power to many, including Walmart, Kohl's, and many Redhawk homes roughly two hours later. Area traffic lights that had gone dark returned to flashing red, residents told Patch and an undetermined number of homes and businesses were still without power at 5:30 p.m.
