Riverside County Sheriff's Department Holding 'Expedited Hiring Event'

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is holding an "expedited hiring event" this weekend, offering prospective deputies an opportunity to complete the agency's written examination and physical agility test, and begin the background-check process all in one day.

People interested in pursuing a career as a correctional deputy or deputy sheriff are encouraged to attend the Feb. 24 event scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the department's Ben Clark Training Center, 16791 Davis Avenue, in Riverside. Additionally, the sheriff's department has openings for 911 dispatchers and multiple support positions, according to the agency.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, bring a valid government ID, and wear appropriate fitness attire to participate in the physical agility test.

Walk-ins are welcome and will be assisted on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the sheriff's department.

Recruiters will be onsite throughout the event to provide career information and application assistance.

The hiring event is the second this month for the sheriff's department. The law enforcement agency hosted a Feb. 10 career expo that was designed to provide information about working in the department's corrections division. The free-to-attend event was held at Indio's John J. Benoit Detention Center.
