State Law Enforcement Vehicle Involved In Crash East Of Temecula
A California Department of Fish & Wildlife vehicle and a sedan collided.
SAGE, CA — A crash involving a state law enforcement vehicle and another car in Sage Thursday seriously injured a motorist.
The collision occurred about 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of Sage and Trifone roads, just south of the Tucalota Springs RV Park, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A California Department of Fish & Wildlife vehicle and a sedan collided at the location, and the sedan ended up in a ditch, trapping the driver, authorities said.

The circumstances behind the crash were unclear.
Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department firefighters reached the scene minutes later and freed the trapped victim, who suffered major injuries, according to officials at the scene.

The driver was taken to a hospital by ambulance in serious but stable condition.
The law enforcement officer apparently was not injured.
Sage Road was partially shut down because of the wreck.
