Teen Arrested After E-Bike, Motorcycle Group Causes Chaos In RivCo

TEMECULA, CA — A teenage motorcyclist was arrested after leading deputies on a high-speed chase in Riverside County on Jan. 20 alongside a group of other riders, authorities said Thursday.

Around 3 p.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Southwest Station, responded to reports of juveniles illegally riding motorcycles and e-bikes in the roadway, officials said in a statement.

Upon arrival, deputies encountered approximately 20 juveniles riding recklessly and blocking traffic by riding across the full width of the street.

In an attempt to address the situation, a deputy attempted to stop a rider on an unregistered motorcycle, but the motorcyclist refused to comply, authorities said. The suspect reportedly sped off, running stop signs and posing a serious risk to public safety, deputies said.

Deputies ultimately said they abandoned the pursuit due to safety concerns.

Following an investigation, authorities identified the fleeing motorcyclist, who was later taken into custody and booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of felony evading. His motorcycle was also seized, officials said.
