Temecula Closes Athletic Fields, Parks After January Storm
The city activated its Field Conditions Text Alerts to inform residents of these closures following recent rain showers.

TEMECULA, CA — The city of Temecula has closed all grass athletic fields following the recent rains, community services supervisor Andrew Formentera confirmed with Patch.
Temecula recorded about .79 inches of rain in Sunday's storm and in the early morning hours. That amount of rain has rendered the grass fields closed, Formentera said.
"Maintenance has alerted that all of the athletic fields will be closed, with the exception of the artificial turf fields at Patricia Birdsall Sports Park and Sommer's Bend Sports Park, which will be closed through Wednesday, when they will be re-evaluated," he said.
