Temecula Homicide Investigation Yields Early Morning Arrest: Cops

TEMECULA, CA — A 22-year-old Temecula man was arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting another man early Saturday, Riverside County Sheriff's Department Southwest Station spokesperson said.

Micah Harris was arrested at a south Temecula home on Josheroo Court on suspicion of firing the fatal shot, according to Sgt. Jarred Bishop.

Harris was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on felony murder charges, and bail was set at $1 million. He was slated to appear in court Wednesday at the Murrieta Southwest Justice Center to answer felony murder charges, according to jail records.

Shortly before 5 a.m., deputies arrived at the 32900 block of Josheroo Court in Temecula, answering a 911 call.

The caller, who identified himself as Harris, advised authorities that he had just shot an adult male inside the Temecula home, Bishop said. "Deputies arrived on the scene and detained Harris."

Several additional people were also inside when officers arrived, according to Bishop.

"Deputies checked the inside of the home and found the deceased man. The identity of the victim will be withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.

"Based on the circumstances, the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation," Bishop said.

There are no known additional suspects in this incident.

"Due to this being an active investigation, no further information will be released," Bishop said.
