Temecula Little League Makes Valiant Effort Toward State Title
A tip of the cap and some high fives for this league of extraordinary youths who battled hard toward a California State Title.

TEMECULA, Ca — The Temecula U-11 District 28 California Little League team, coached by Pike Rodriquez, Kristian Gohlke and John Morton led their team of sluggers nearly all the way to state victory in 2022.
Formed with a solid core of returning players, this team battled hard to make it to the California State Championships falling just shy of of their goal.
They lost last July 28 against Eastlake Little League 1-2 they finished the season as District 28 Champs, Section 9 champs, and finished the post-season run top 6th in the California State Championship.

This was the second year this team made a run for state glory, according to mom Sharon Sardina.

"This is a special group of boys and one girl, with several who played together last year, as well," Sardina said.

Brody Sardina, Austin Czerwiec, Logan Rodriguez, Elyssa Mones, Evan Morton and Levi Prather returned, with the added strength of Chadd Mitchell,Cole Gohlke, Damian Mendoza, Devin Barrett Dylan Berghorn, Hunter Cisneros, Kai McCray and Luke Ruvalcaba joining the team.

“These 13 boys and 1 girl all hailing from Temecula played their hearts out for 2 months," a team spokesperson said. "They battled each and every game, formed new friendships and made Temecula Little League and all of their fans and family so proud!”
The team played a total of 10 games and went 8-2 for the season, the only losses at State against some of the best SoCal Little League teams, according to a team spokesperson.
Six of these boys are now starting their pop warmer football season on the same team and hope to continue to do big things. They will be back for the 2023 Little League Season, they said.
