Temecula: Need A New Oil Filter? How To Get One For Free

TEMECULA, CA — If you live in Temecula and your car is in need of a new oil filter, residents can get one for free this weekend.

The Western Riverside Council of Governments and AutoZone Temecula are partnering for one day on Dec. 7 to collect used oil and filters and replace them with new ones. The event will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at AutoZone Autoparts (31837 S. Hwy 79 #A).

"Let’s do our part to reduce the improper disposal of used motor oil, which can contaminate our water and the environment," the city said in a Facebook post.

Here's how to participate:

• Visit Temecula.UsedOilRecycling.info to claim up to two free oil filter vouchers.
• Drain and collect up to five gallons of used motor oil in a plastic container.
• Bring your email voucher, plastic container of used motor oil, and up to 2 used oil filters in exchange for 2 free oil filters of equal or lesser value, which cannot exceed $15.
