Temecula Property Tax Payment Deadline Fast Approaching

Anyone late on their second installment will be assessed a 10 percent penalty plus a $39 administrative fee.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Riverside County property owners have 10 days remaining, counting Monday, to pay the final installment of their 2018-19 property taxes -- or face penalties.

April 10 is the official deadline, five days ahead of the dreaded income tax deadline nationwide.

According to the Treasurer-Tax-Collector's Office, more than 900,000 secured tax bills were sent out last fall. The first installment of property taxes was due in December.

Installment plans may be available to some defaulting property owners.

Taxpayers can dispute the assessed values of their homes or businesses by submitting appeals to the Clerk of the Board beginning in July. The appeals process involves a review by the Assessor-Clerk-Recorder's Office, and ultimately a hearing before the county's independent assessment appeals board, if there's no resolution in the early stages.
