NORCO, CA — City SC Temecula G12 Premier youth soccer team ended their magical season by claiming the SOCAL State Cup Championship at Silverlakes Sports Park in Norco this weekend.
G12 Premier defeated Beach FC G12 of Long Beach by a score of 4-3 in a penalty shootout.
Lead by charismatic head coach, Jessica Nelson, G12 Premier breezed through the State Cup group stages by winning all five games scoring 24 goals and allowing only 4. In the elimination rounds, the girls were perfect. 4-0 win in the 1st Round, 3-0 in the quarterfinal, and 4-0 in the semifinal.

In the championship game, Temecula was down 1-0 and almost out with the referee holding the whistle to his mouth ready to end the game when Temecula scored with a Hail Mary type kick by defender Sofia Irwin. The match went straight to penalties. 9 nail biting minutes later, it was all over with Temecula storming the field. Final score: 4-3. State Cup Champions.
