Democratic Club Launches in Temecula Valley

From Temecula Valley Democrats Club: The Temecula Valley Democrats is a newly chartered political organization. The local chapter was guided by a couple of young community activists, Travis Traber and Skylar Tempel. Travis is a powerful and talented young campaign field organizer. Skylar is a brilliant, young leader who ran for Temecula City Council in the 2016 election. He has led the club through it’s initial organization and through the process of becoming chartered through the Democratic Party. The club's mission is to elect Democratic candidates to fill seats in upcoming local and state elections and to support democratic candidates on a national level.

Temecula Valley Democrats is well-structured and clearly focused. There are three Vice-Presidents and six standing committees. These committees are: Action and Outreach, Membership, Fundraising, Communication/Technology, Education/Candidate Development, and Legislation. Skylar Tempel continues a busy schedule as the Executive Board Parliamentarian as well as serving on the Education and Legislation committees. The group has already held two general meetings and is in the process of voting in its officers.

The Action Committee is reaching out to other grassroots organizations. It will be hosting an Intergroup Council to encourage communication and coordinate efforts as appropriate. The first of these meetings is planned for 7 p.m. on April 11, 2017. Interested persons should contact the club through its website: TemeculaValleyDemocrats.org.

The Temecula Valley Democrats hosts its general membership meetings monthly, on the third Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Murrieta.
