Woman Fatally Shot In RivCo, 2nd Woman Suspected Of Murder Sheriff Says

The shooting happened at a home in the Temecula Lane community, authorities said.

TEMECULA, CA — A Temecula woman has been charged with murder after another woman was found shot to death at a home in the Temecula Lane community on Friday, authorities said.

Nicaela Hernandez, 31, was arrested and is being held at the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said Saturday.

No information on the victim's identity, including her age, had been released as of Saturday afternoon pending notification of next of kin, the sheriff's department said.

Authorities were called to a home on the 31000 block of Sunflower Way about 6:45 p.m. Friday and found a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, the sheriff's office said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, they said.

Investigators identified Hernandez as the suspect in the shooting and arrested her, the sheriff's office said. No additional suspects are believed to be involved, they said.
