Temecula Valley Holiday Decorating Contest Winners Announced: 2024

Visit Temecula Valley's annual Temecula Chilled Holiday Decorations Contest has yielded some amazing entries this year, including wineries.

TEMECULA, CA — Visit Temecula Valley announced the winners of the 2024 Temecula Chilled Holiday Decorating Contest, an annual event designed to encourage local businesses to create a fun and festive atmosphere for the holiday season, said Norma Marlowe, spokesperson for Visit Temecula.

The entries were judged in three categories: Best Decorated Old Town Business, Best Decorated Winery, and Best Decorated Tree in a Hotel. Seven local businesses across Old Town and Wine Country were awarded for creating show-stopping holiday displays.

The Winners:

Best Decorated Old Town Business: First Place ($500) went to Luke’s on Front and Second Place ($300) went to Small Barn. 1909 Temecula took third place ($200). Both Visit Temecula Valley and the Old Town Temecula Association provided prizes.

Participants included: 1909, Baily's Old Town Front Street, Big Nose Winery, Blackbird Tavern, Bottega Italia, Citrus and Moss, Corbeaux Wine and Tea House, Haven Haus Cafe, La Fata Cellars, Landeros Mexican Grill + Cantina, Mad Madeline's Grill, Old Town Mining and Mercantile, Old Town Sweet Shop, Old Town Pub & Grub, Public House Temecula, Steinerhaus Barbecue, Swing Inn Cafe, The Crafted Scone, and The Sugar Spot.

Best Decorated Winery: Europa Village ($500) was the First Place winner; Second Place ($300) went to Briar Rose Winery and Third Place ($200) was awarded to Callaway Vineyard & Winery. Visit Temecula Valley and the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association provided prizes for this category.

Participants included Callaway Winery, Peltzer Farm & Winery, South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, and Wiens Cellars.

Best Decorated Hotel Tree: Ponte Vineyard Inn won for its beautiful trio of holiday trees. The team was awarded an overflowing charcuterie platter from Grazing Theory.

Participants included: Best Western Country Inn, Embassy Suites Temecula, Fairfield Inn Suites Temecula, Hilton Garden Inn Temecula, Home2 Suites By Hilton Temecula, Inn At Churon Winery, Ponte Vineyard Inn, South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, SpringHill Suites Temecula Valley Wine Country, Staybridge Suites Temecula, and the Temecula Creek Inn.

Scott Wilson, CEO of Visit Temecula Valley weighed in on the annual contest.

“This popular annual event reflects our community’s wonderful spirit as creative teams go all out to transform their businesses into stunning displays that truly embrace the season,” Wilson said. “We encourage visitors and residents alike to visit Temecula and enjoy the amazing holiday displays in Old Town, Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country, and Pechanga Resort Casino.”

The Judges

All entries were judged on a volunteer basis by five California destinations: Visit Greater Palm Springs, Visit Oceanside, Visit San Diego, Visit Santa Cruz County, and the Yosemite Mariposa County Tourism Bureau.

Visitors are encouraged to drive around town and enjoy the many spectacular holiday displays throughout Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country.
