The Temecula Christmas Tree lighting at the Duck Pond drew hundreds to watch the countdown and see Santa Claus.

TEMECULA, CA — Temecula residents showed up in spades for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at the Duck Pond this year. Mayor James "Stew" Stewart shared his thoughts on the night, saying more showed up than in recent memory.
The tree lighting took place Monday evening in front of hundreds of residents who were there for the festivities, which included music, treats, and a visit from Santa Claus.
"It was a perfect evening," he said. "One of the largest crowds ever."

"It was such a fun night!" she told Patch. "We've made it our family tradition (to see the tree lighting). She says they use the opportunity to take photos with Santa Claus for their annual family Christmas cards.
The Ramos family plans to attend the Santa's Electric Light Parade on Friday in Old Town Temecula, where one of her sons will march with his Pop Warner Football Team. She said the parade, the tree lighting, and so many family activities are her favorite part of living in Temecula.
To that, Mayor Stewart agreed.
"Temecula is all about creating events that create family memories," Stewart said. "It was magical."
