Texas Roadhouse One Step Closer To Promenade Temecula Mall Location

TEMECULA, CA — The Texas Roadhouse Restaurant chain is eyeing a spot inside Promenade Temecula Mall for a future location. According to development plans discussed Thursday at city hall, this would be a new build on the mall's northeast side.

Senior Planner Scott Cooper shared a statement on the decision.

“At the Director’s Hearing this afternoon Texas Roadhouse was approved for an approximately 8,000 square foot restaurant that includes a bar/lounge area and an outdoor patio dining area. The project is located at the Temecula Promenade Mall within the existing Dick’s Sporting Goods parking lot,” he said.

Texas Roadhouse will be built at 40710 Winchester Road, inside Promenade Temecula's Ring Road, according to documents.

Texas Roadhouse began planning for a Temecula location in 2023.

The new restaurant will be built in the standard Texas Roadhouse style from the ground up. No additional environmental impact studies are required, per the city planner's office.

"The applicant hopes to construct a new building, including a bar, lounge area, and an outdoor patio dining area," according to the filed report. According to planning documents provided to the city, the restaurant would offer a full bar and be adorned with murals created specifically for the location.

The conditional use permit can be renewed five times at the discretion of the Director of Community Development.

According to its website, Texas Roadhouse is a Kentucky-based chain known for its steaks, ribs, fresh bread, and made-from-scratch sides. A spokesperson for the restaurant wrote that it is "big on community outreach and partners with many businesses, sports venues, and schools. " The nearest Texas Roadhouse is in Menifee, at 29860 Haun Road.

Temecula is known for its many steakhouses, including Longhorn Steakhouse, Gambling Cowboy, and the Gaucho Grill, which is slated for Old Town Temecula.
