Truck Driver Killed After Semi Crashes On I-10 Near Blythe
A trucker was fatally injured Friday when his tractor-trailer crashed alongside Interstate 10 west of Blythe.
BLYTHE, CA — A trucker was fatally injured Friday when his tractor-trailer crashed alongside Interstate 10 west of Blythe.
The fatality occurred shortly after 1 p.m. Friday on eastbound I-10, just east of Wiley's Well Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency reported the Burlington Truck Lines big rig abruptly veered off of the freeway and crashed in the desert. No other vehicles were involved.

Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location roughly 25 minutes later and pronounced the trucker, whose identity was not disclosed, dead at the scene.
No lanes were closed, and traffic on I-10 was not impacted, the CHP said.

The exact cause of the crash was under investigation.
