TVGS Honors Charter Members and Unveils Updated Genealogy Room

The ceremony took place on Monday, July 8th, 2024 at the Ron H. Roberts Temecula Library.

TEMECULA, CA - On Monday, July 8th, 2024 Temecula Valley Genealogical Society recognized our TVGS Charter Members and unveiled our updated Genealogy Room.

We are grateful to our charter members who conceived TVGS back in 1998. These individuals were part of the foundation and history of our society, and some of them remain members to this day. Confirming a list of all our original members was an arduous task but we completed the list, and the certificate is now framed and is hanging in our updated Genealogy Room at the Ronald H. Roberts Temecula Library. Invitations were sent to the members we could locate, and those present received a Charter Member Certificate.

The recognition of our charter members included a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil our updated Genealogy Room at the Ronald H. Roberts Temecula Library. Some of the updates include newly installed microfilm/fiche equipment and scanner, which we will be able to use for FamilySearch research. We are on our way to becoming a FamilySearch Affiliate Library and when that is finalized, we will be the first one in Riverside County.
