Winchester Man Struck, Killed By Car In Temecula
The unidentified man from Winchester was apparently walking north on the freeway when he was struck.

TEMECULA, CA -- A pedestrian was struck by a car last Saturday while walking on southbound Interstate 215. The unidentified man from Winchester was apparently walking north on the freeway around 6 a.m. Saturday when the incident occurred, California Highway Patrol said Monday.
CHP said Gonzalo Ojeda, 26, of San Diego, was driving a trailer southbound at 55 miles per hour when the 31-year-old pedestrian walked directly into the path of the car. The incident happened just south of Keller Road.
The victim was "thrown to the roadway surface and came to rest on the right shoulder" of southbound Interstate 215, according to the CHP.

The victim was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center where he later died. Ojeda, who stopped at the scene, was not injured, CHP said.
The incident is under investigation.
