Wind Advisory In Effect Through Friday Across Western Riverside County

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A wind advisory was in effect Thursday for western Riverside County and the blustery conditions were expected to extend into Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

The wind advisory began at 6 a.m. Thursday and is in effect through 6 p.m. Friday, the NWS reported. The Coachella Valley was not under the advisory.

East winds could blow to 30 mph across the region. The strongest winds were occurring across the mountains and coastal foothills — these areas could see gusts to 55 mph, with isolated gusts to 65 mph, according to the NWS.

While Thursday and Friday were expected to be warmer across western Riverside County, a pattern change will develop this weekend, bringing much cooler temperatures, gusty onshore winds and a chance of light showers Saturday and Sunday, the NWS reported.

Conditions will be dry and a little warmer Monday, then another low-pressure system will bring cooler temperatures with strong, gusty west-to-northwest winds in the mountains and deserts in the middle of next week, according to the NWS.
