• Two juveniles arrested in alleged connection to vehicle burglaries (sierrasun.com) — Truckee police say two local boys, ages 14 and 16, were arrested on felony charges after a months-long investigation into a string of overnight vehicle burglaries and stolen cars at town apartment complexes. Officers urge residents to lock vehicles and keep keys, wallets, and other valuables out of sight to help prevent more thefts.

• Truckee, North Tahoe to leave Nevada high school athletics (rgj.com) — Starting with the 2026–27 school year, Truckee High sports teams will leave Nevada leagues and join the California Interscholastic Federation after state officials ruled Nevada’s birth-certificate policy conflicts with California law. Truckee and North Tahoe athletes will finish this winter and spring in Nevada before the mandated shift, which district leaders say is essential to protect students’ access to sports.
