Carol Vernaci, EA Voted Best Tax Preparer in Union City

In what could be considered a no-contest contest, readers have voted as the best tax preparer in Union City.

The independent tax professional — who is also running for mayor this year and  served on City Council for 13 years — received 112 (or 98 percent) of the votes in , along with several glowing comments and reviews.

Dutra-Vernaci's office is located at 3761 Smith St., where she provides a variety of tax services including collection, audits and appeals.

Lynne Mattos said she drives from Reno to get her taxes done by Dutra-Vernaci. "She is very professional. There is none better," Mattos said.

"Great service, reasonably priced," added Maureen Hart, who said her family has used Dutra-Vernaci's services for 20 years.
