City Council To See New Members Following November General Election
The winners of Districts 3 and 4 races will replace current council members Emily Duncan and Pat Gacoscos, who have reached term limits.
UNION CITY, CA — Union City’s Vice Mayor, Jaime Patino is currently leading the race for the seat representing District 2 on City Council, the most recent vote tally provided by AC Vote shows.
Patino, who currently serves as vice mayor for the city, leads challenger Chuck Kennedy by 13.62 percent of the vote, with 930 votes to Kennedy’s 707.
AC vote, Alameda County’s vote counting and reporting agency has been posting “unofficial results” since the election, so the count as reported has not been finalized, with votes still being counted.

In Union City’s District 3, Jeff Wang leads with 1,273 votes or 48.44 percent over Kristy Boer (781 or 29.72 percent) and Lee Guio (574 or 21.84 percent.)
In District 4 Scott Sakakihara leads over Vipan S. Bajawa, with 1,820 or 62.01 percent of the vote to Bajawa's 1,115 votes or 37.99 percent.

The winners of the District 3 and District 4 races will replace current council members Emily Duncan and Pat Gacoscos, both who will reach their three-term limits this year as outlined in Union City Municipal Code Section 2.07.020.
AC Vote’s next update is expected Friday, Nov. 18.
