Excessive Heat Watch Issued For Union City, East Bay: NWS

Temperatures are expected to hit triple digits in parts of the East Bay this weekend with records expected to be broken. Union City forecast

UNION CITY, CA — The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for most of the Bay Area including Union City and Alameda County.

The heat watch will be in effect from 11 a.m. Saturday through 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to warm later this week and top out over 100 degrees Saturday through Monday in the interior East Bay with Livermore expected to be set new records on Sunday and Monday. Here in Union City the Bay will keep us cooler, mostly in the 80s, with the hottest day coming Monday at over 90.

“The risk for heat related illnesses is increasing,” the NWS said on the agency’s Facebook page.

“Make sure to hydrate and take cooling breaks if you'll be outdoors. Avoid activities during the heat of the day if possible.”
