The number of foreclosure homes in Union City is down 69 percent over last year, and they're selling for an average of $45,500 less than non-foreclosure houses.
That's according to a report released Thursday from Realty Trac, which shows 168 homes in some sort of foreclosure in Union City with 16 of those houses for sale.
The median sale price for foreclosure homes was $399,500 in April. That was 1 percent higher than April 2012.

The median sale price for non-foreclosure houses was $445,000, up 21 percent from a year before.
In May, the number of properties that have received a foreclosure filing in Union City was 15 percent lower than in April and down 69 percent from May 2012.

Overall, homes sales in Union City in April were down 24 percent from the previous month and down 7 percent from the year before.
The figures were part of a national report released by Realty Trac that showed there are 712,000 foreclosure homes in the United States. Of those, 167,000 have been vacated by their owners.
