East Bay Mail Carrier Robbed At Gunpoint; USPS Offers Big Reward
The Postal Service is offering up to $150,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
UNION CITY, CA — Local and federal authorities are searching for a culprit who robbed a letter carrier at gunpoint while they were making deliveries in Union City over the weekend.
According to the Union City Police Department, the carrier called 911 to report an armed robbery while working on the 4600 block of Granada Way shortly before 2:20 p.m. Saturday. The victim suffered minor injuries and received treatment at a local hospital.
Despite officers' efforts, investigators said the person or people responsible remained at large Monday.

"The Union City Police Department is not aware of any active threats to the community as a result of this incident," police said in a news release. "Community members are strongly encouraged to promptly report any suspicious activity to the UCPD."
Union City detectives are working the case alongside the Postal Inspection Service, and the United States Postal Service is offering up to $150,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
