Memorial Service Fund Established for Homicide Victim; Public Viewing Set for Saturday
The family of Daniel Garcia-Sanchez, one of two men fatally shot on Aug. 25, will hold a public viewing Saturday evening.

The family of Daniel Garcia-Sanchez, one of two men shot and killed last weekend, have established a fund to help pay for funeral services.
According to Union City’s Youth and Family Services, which assists local families in times of crisis, an emergency fund has been established at the Wells Fargo bank, located at 34356 Alvarado-Niles Rd. in Union City.
Contributions can be made in person to The Garcia-Sanchez Family, care of Wells Fargo, account number 2774818336.

Garcia-Sanchez, 21, and close friend Carlos Estrada-Partida, 18, were gunned down on the 33400 block of 11th Street at about 1 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 25. Two suspects were arrested Thursday in connection to the double homicide.
Garcia-Sanchez was living with Estrada-Partida’s family at the time and both worked together at joint Japanese restaurants Shabuway and Men Oh.

The restaurants will be holding a daylong fundraiser for both the Garcia-Sanchez and Estrada-Partida families on Saturday. The restaurants will donate 10 percent of all proceeds to the families.
Also on Saturday, the Garcia-Sanchez family will hold a public viewing at Brown Temple Church of God in Christ, located at 1111 H St. in Union City.
The Garcia-Sanchez family encourages community members to attend the viewing from 6 to 7 p.m. A private viewing will be held prior.
Memorial services for Estrada-Partida announced
Funeral Services for Estrada-Partida will be held later in the week.
According to family members, a viewing for the younger victim will be held Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Holy Angels-Holy Sepulchre Funeral Center, located at 1051 Harder Rd. in Hayward.
A mass will be held the following day at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church at 703 C St., followed by the burial at Holy Angels-Holy Sepulchre cemetery.
