Motorcycle Officer Injured in Union City Collision
An East Bay Regional Park District Police Department motorcycle officer was injured in a collision on Highway 880 in Union City on Friday.
UNION CITY, CA -- A motorcycle police officer was injured Friday afternoon in a collision on Interstate Highway 880 in Union City, according to the East Bay Regional Park District Police Department.
The collision occurred at 3:15 p.m. near Alvarado Niles Road.

The officer, who was not named but is with the park district, was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries and has since been released, according to a post by park district Capt. Alan Love.

"In the weeks to come, the officer will recovering from his injuries," the department said in a statement posted on social media.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol are investigating the collision.
