Muslim Prayer to be Held in Hayward for Eid Celebration
Eid is a festive celebration that marks then end of Ramadan. A prayer will be held Sunday at Hayward City Hall.

Sunday, August 19 marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting, which began on Friday, July 20. As Ramadan winds down, Muslims around the world celebrate the festive day known as Eid. There are roughly 8 million Muslims living in the United States.
Obligatory prayers are performed on Eid, and Muslims are encouraged to be generous with their charitable giving on this day.

During Ramadan, Muslims around the world abstain from food, drink and sexual relations from sunrise to sunset during the holy month. Ramadan is also a time of spiritual reflection, improvement and increased devotion and worship.
The Alameda Muslim League of Hayward, Calif., predominantly consisting of Indo-Fijians, has the honor of being hosted by the city council.

The Eid Prayer will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Hayward City Hall on 777 B Street.
