The robbery occurred around 2:15 p.m. on Friday when Mendez and two other suspects burst through the door and ordered employees and customers to the ground. They took money and other property before fleeing in a white two-door coupe, according to police.

Shortly after the incident, a Fremont police officer stopped a vehicle matching the description but all three men fled on foot.
Police surrounded the area and caught Mendez, who is now in police custody.

A search for the remaining suspects continues.
