One Injured in Sandra Court House Fire

The fire started in a shed and trailed into the house before spreading to the attic.

A man suffered minor injuries after a fire in a tool shed spread into his Sandra Court home, fire officials said.

The man experienced burns to his hand as well as ingested smoke, Alameda County Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Kerstetter said. He was transported to a local hospital for inspection.

According to Kerstetter, the fire was reported at 5:23 p.m. and took fire crews about 40 minutes to contain.

The fire started in the back yard, trailed into the home and spread into the attic but did not spread to neighboring houses, he added.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, Kerstetter said.
