Update: 20-Year-Old Fremont Woman Identified as Victim of Fatal Crash

Crash involved multiple vehicles, according to the CHP.

Bay City News — A woman who died in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate Highway 880 this morning in Hayward has been identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau as 20-year-old Fremont resident Malika Cade.

The crash, which was reported at 2:08 a.m. just north of the state Highway 92 interchange, blocked multiple lanes in both directions for hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Cade was hit when exiting her vehicle to help people involved in a minor crash, causing a chain reaction with about half a dozen cars.

All lanes were reopened by about 4:50 a.m.

Several injuries were reported after the deadly crash, officials said.
